As a Product Manager - Readers, this role will focus on end-to-end management of readers and reader-devices within the HID Physical Access Control Solution (PACS) reader portfolio.
The role is an interdisciplinary position that bridges product development, operational, commercial, and support teams to provide best-in-class products and customer experience.
To succeed, the candidate must have at least 5 years of experience in product management, emphasizing electro-mechanical and embedded firmware systems, preferably within the RFID and physical access control industry.
You will lead and drive initiatives to maintain, support, and ensure the success of reader products assigned to you. You will work with a global team including Business/Epic owners, Product Owners, Engineers, and Operations professionals.

Join our team at the Cardiff location in the Physical Access Control Solutions (PACS) division.
The PACS portfolio includes smart cards, mobile access, identification, software, services, and controllers for physical access control.
As our Product Managers - Readers, you will support HID’s success by:
* Leading activities for reader and reader-devices within the portfolio to deliver unique solutions with superior customer experience.
* Driving innovation, continuous improvement, and differentiation based on customer needs, market trends, and technology developments.
* Ensuring portfolio initiatives align with the broader reader roadmap, strategic vision, and business priorities.
* Managing changes to the reader product vision and roadmap in line with PACS strategic themes.
* Defining and delivering clear product requirements addressing market and internal problems to extract value.
* Driving outcomes, establishing metrics to evaluate product effectiveness within lean budgets.
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams using Agile SAFe methodologies to align marketing, sales, and product efforts for revenue growth.
* Developing and executing comprehensive Go-to-Market strategies for the product lifecycle.

Your Experience and Education:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred but not required).
* Minimum 5 years in Product Management or similar roles.
* Experience managing embedded hardware/firmware products or IoT/Wireless devices.
* Knowledge of contactless RFID in physical access control or security industries is beneficial.
* Experience from concept to product launch.
* Familiarity with various customer types, technologies, standards, and regulations.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
* Experience with CRM tools like Salesforce, Oracle-EBS, Oracle-PLM, etc.
* Experience with product management tools such as Jira, TestRail, Miro is advantageous.
* Experience with Agile and lean innovation practices.
* Training in SAFe methodologies, such as Implementing SAFe or SAFe POPM.
