We are looking for a Food and Beverage Manager to join our friendly and talented team at the Kings Head.
This is an exciting new opportunity to join the Kings Head as we undergo a refurbishment and relaunch. The Kings Head is a 66-bedroom boutique Inn located in the heart of Cirencester. Set within a stunning 14th-century building, this stylish Inn effortlessly blends historic character with contemporary comfort. From original stone walls and vaulted cellars to chic modern furnishings, every corner tells a story of timeless elegance.
The on-site restaurant serves seasonal British cuisine, while the bar and lounge provide a relaxed atmosphere for drinks, afternoon tea, or casual dining. The Kings Head Hotel is also a sought-after venue for weddings, meetings, and special occasions.
Job Role Description:
The Food & Beverage Manager oversees the entire food and beverage operation including the restaurant/s, bar and conference & banqueting, taking responsibility for ensuring high standards of service are consistently delivered.
Your role will be pivotal, ensuring seamless coordination between senior management and our dedicated team to ensure our guest expectations are exceeded.
Responsibilities:
Take charge of all food and beverage departments, ensuring smooth operations and a memorable experience for all guests.
Leading the team, including both the restaurant and bar manager whilst being hands on, personally executing the day-to-day operations.
Work closely with the Head Chef, Sales and Events Manager and Reception ensuring that service standards remain high and information flows seamlessly.
Conduct impactful training with the team to develop their knowledge and skills needed to deliver outstanding service.
Coach, motivate and develop the restaurant and bar manager, fostering a culture of growth and excellence throughout the food and beverage team.
Oversee the operations of our events, working closely with the sales and events manager, ensuring that each event is flawlessly executed.
Address any guests concerns promptly, ensuring they have a positive experience.
Drive positive reputation scores in the food and beverage department.
Implement and maintain control measures including managing labour costs, supply and stock in line with budget.
Review budget and forecast with the General Manager monthly.
Implementing health and food safety protocols, ensuring the department remains compliant at all times.
Monitor sales performance and uphold standards of upselling, continuously striving to elevate the guest experience.
Develop departmental objectives and establish monthly benchmarks, driving continuous improvement and excellence.
What you Need:
You will have experience in running a busy Food and Beverage department ideally within a similarly sized property with event functions. You can confidentiality manage both daily service and event logistics and thrive on bringing people together for memorable experiences.
You will be a hands-on leader with a passion for guest service and the ability to build and motivate your team. Managing the detail through your managers, supervisors and team will be second nature and leading from the front to set the example is something you are no stranger to.
Have excellent communication and client relationship skills, with the confidence to work closely with guests, suppliers and colleagues at all times.
Demonstrated experience in coaching, training and developing your team to deliver against expectations.
You will be excellent at building a rapport with colleagues and guests.
Self-motivated with a drive to achieve, consistently striving to get things right the first time.
