As a Senior Radiographer/Mammographer at our hospital, you’ll bring advanced technical knowledge and the ability to work quickly and accurately. You have a great eye for detail and you’re caring by nature. As well as a BSC degree in diagnostic radiography (or equivalent), you have a postgraduate qualification in an area of specialisation.
As a Senior Radiographer/Mammographer, you will:
1. Have a BSC degree in diagnostic radiography (or equivalent)
2. A postgraduate qualification and/or high levels of technical knowledge (desirable)
3. Have an understanding and empathetic approach to patients and staff alike
4. Be respectful towards all individuals, including staff, patients and visitors
5. Have a proactive and forward-thinking approach to work
6. Ensure a service of the highest quality is delivered with sensitivity and compassion
7. Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Main duties and responsibilities:
8. Deliver a high-quality diagnostic imaging service for a varied caseload.
9. Be highly proficient in the use of all equipment within scope of practice.
10. Work with leading practitioners and cutting-edge practices, equipment and facilities
11. Supervise and develop junior colleagues
12. To work within IRMER and own scope of practice, in accordance with the code of conduct set out by the HCPC.
13. Participate in departmental audits and Quality Assurance programme.
14. Provide support to the Clinical Lead Radiographers.
15. Ensure equipment is safe and fit for purpose and can report faults in line with Nuffield Health policy.
16. Competency in intravenous cannulation and administration of contrast media is essential.
17. Provide input to the review, update and implementation of departmental policy and procedural changes.
18. Comply with all Nuffield Health policies and procedures.
19. Ensure all records are maintained in line with statutory and organisational requirements.
