Job Description:
Manpower is seeking an interim Assistant Technical Project Leader to work with our global FMCG client Unilever, known for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple. This role is based in Seacroft, Leeds, and is a full-time temporary position for 6 months, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation ranges from £30,800 to £35,000 per annum, pro rata, based on experience.
The role offers a mix of remote and onsite work, subject to business needs.
The Assistant Technical Project Leader will manage formulation, specification, and packaging activities within deodorants innovation projects, supporting the delivery of these projects to market. The role ensures global and local formulation and packaging solutions are efficiently integrated into European supply chains and customer requirements.
This position focuses on supporting innovation project managers on large, high/medium risk projects. Responsibilities include coordinating formulation work, implementing formulation changes across a brand portfolio, and supporting packaging solutions with the packaging team.
Key Accountabilities
* Support the Manager/Technical Project Leader on project management tasks across multiple projects, deputising when needed, and ensuring good communication with regions/countries.
* Manage innovation projects as a global/regional TPL on small/low risk projects.
* Contribute to technical documentation, gather cross-functional input, identify project risks, and update stakeholders.
* Prepare documentation for laboratory technicians, such as batch sheets and data templates, and check gas sheets where trained.
* Serve as formulation contact for projects, providing information and solving formulation and project issues creatively.
* Ensure packaging compatibility with formulation and customer requirements, meeting regulatory and sustainability standards.
* Manage packaging activities from primary and secondary packaging to palletisation, collaborating with internal and external partners.
* Complete code summaries to ensure accurate ordering and Bill of Materials.
Key Requirements
* FMCG experience preferred.
* Graduate level preferred, but GCSE Math, English, Sciences, or Engineering required.
* Experience in science/laboratory work and formulation development is beneficial.
* Experience in project management and claims development is advantageous.
* Packaging development experience in FMCG is beneficial.
