Job Title: Safety Coordinator
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator to join a solar project team responsible for site civil and earthwork. The candidate will oversee safety inspections, audits, and reports, ensuring that safe construction practices are adhered to. The role requires traveling throughout the facility, and the candidate will be provided with a laptop and an onsite vehicle. The Safety Coordinator will report directly to the Director of Safety.
Responsibilities
1. Conduct site walk downs to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
2. Perform safety inspections for craft labor on site.
3. Provide safety training to onsite personnel.
4. Compile and submit daily safety reports.
5. Update the OSHA 300 log with any recordable incidents.
6. Ensure safe construction practices are consistently applied.
Essential Skills
7. Must have OSHA 500, CSP, CHST, or a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety.
8. 5+ years of experience in heavy industrial/civil construction safety
9. Proficiency in safety audits and safety training within the construction field
10. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations
11. Previous Solar Construction experience
Work Environment
The position is based at a utility-scale solar project site located in Virginia. The role requires working a day shift - Monday through Friday, 10-hour shifts; Saturday, 8-hour shifts. Employees work approximately 58 hours per week, with 7-days paid per diem at $130/day. The work environment is fast-paced, and the candidate will need to wear protective gear such as a hard hat, boots, glasses, gloves, and a protective vest.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $50.00/hr.
