Our Shift Leader rate of pay starts from £15.59 an hour; this increases to £16.86 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, with the option to work fewer (minimum 12) if desired.
Availability windows are the periods we need you to be available. Shifts will be scheduled within these windows with 3 weeks’ notice beforehand.

Responsibilities
* Work in a fast‑paced retail environment, with a wide variety of products.
* Take ownership of running duty shifts, coordinating the team to deliver a clean, well‑stocked store that exceeds customer expectations.
* Listen to customers and help them find what they need, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
* Look for ways to improve service, including coaching colleagues and providing feedback.
* Guide and support your colleagues in‑store, keeping the environment safe for both staff and shoppers.
* Maintain a strong understanding of store performance, assist managers in delivering actions that improve operations.
* Lead by example, setting a high standard for professionalism and customer focus.
Additional Responsibilities
* Coordinate the store team to deliver an easy, fuss‑free shopping experience for customers.
* Support colleagues, ensuring they deliver daily priorities and take regular breaks.
* Open and close the store, completing duty cover and making right decisions for safety.
* Serve as the go‑to person for colleagues during the absence of a manager for day‑to‑day queries.
* Maintain a clean, tidy, well‑presented store at all times.
* Collaborate with managers on seasonal, community and charity events.
* Foster a great team atmosphere that is inclusive of everyone.
* Deliver excellent customer service by listening and prioritising customers’ needs.
* Keep the team informed on communications, changes or updates.
* Stay knowledgeable about store performance and seek ways to improve and simplify operations.
* Co‑ordinate store improvements and remove obstacles to great service.
* Follow health and safety routines and procedures, and encourage colleagues to do the same.
* Recognise and celebrate colleagues who provide great service.

Legal and Eligibility
Only individuals who have passed the school leavers age may be recruited. Candidates must be over 18 if the role requires working before 6:15 am, after 9:45 pm, or involves working in warehouses, beer, wine & spirits, counters, bakery, or driving roles.
