Turn IT On is currently seeking an experienced ICT Consultant/Senior ICT Technician who is motivated and enthusiastic about technology. The ideal candidate should have a natural flair for technology, a strong willingness to learn, and a passion for providing exceptional service to our customers. This role involves supporting schools in and around Buckinghamshire as part of an expanding team.
This position entails supporting a Trust of primary schools, acting as the liaison between the schools and Turn IT On, ensuring they are informed about our products and services, and managing customer accounts. Responsibilities include maintaining IT hardware and software across school sites to enhance ICT provision and facilitate effective teaching and learning through ICT solutions.
The successful candidate should have a passionate interest in IT, a solid technical background, and be self-driven and enthusiastic about customer service. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, as regular liaising with school senior management is required.
Ideal candidates will have at least 2-3 years of experience in a Senior ICT Technician or 2nd/3rd support role within the education sector, though this is not essential. The ability to work independently, troubleshoot effectively, and proactively seek improvements are important qualities.
Responsibilities include:
* Handling 2nd/3rd line issues, responding to ICT emergencies and school complaints.
* Resolving technical issues impacting school operations with robust solutions.
* Providing internal network support.
* Supporting and mentoring 1st/2nd support roles.
* Enforcing and monitoring policies in line with school guidelines.
* Providing staff training.
* Leading on the installation or repair of computers, networking hardware, and peripherals.
* Managing technical duties related to networks and desktop services, including upgrades.
Skills and Abilities:
* Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft OS
* Virtualisation Technologies, especially HyperV
* Cloud Technologies, including Office365/Azure
* Experience in server and network installations
* Proactive decision-making during ICT emergencies
* Excellent customer service and communication skills
* Flexibility and adaptability
* Friendly, approachable, and a team player
* Ability to work independently with good planning and organisation skills
The role is full-time and full-year. The successful candidate will undergo enhanced DBS and safeguarding checks. A valid driving license and own vehicle are required due to the location of the schools.
