Housing Strategy Officer – North East Lincolnshire Council
The Housing Strategy Officer will shape council housing strategies that improve outcomes for vulnerable residents. They will translate complex data, legislation and local need into clear, impactful strategies that influence policy and practice.
Responsibilities
* Engage with residents, accommodation and support providers and council teams to understand supported housing and wider housing legislation, local needs and improvement strategies.
* Review and analyse council and partner data to build evidence base for local need.
* Develop, pitch and draft new or updated council strategies, including the Supported Housing Strategy and the overarching Housing Strategy.
* Advise senior council officers and elected members on actions to meet the housing and supported needs of the borough’s most vulnerable residents.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience working in supported housing, adult social care or homelessness.
* Sound knowledge of national policy and legislation, including the Housing Act, the Care Act and supported accommodation standards.
* Strategic thinker with experience drafting strategies and policies.
* Specialist knowledge and application of statutory and regulatory frameworks relevant to Supported Housing.
* Strong relationship‑building skills with internal and external partners.
* Confident communicator with clear written and verbal skills.
* Good organisational skills and capacity to manage own workload.
