MacGregor Black is proud to partner with a pioneering premium Beverage Producer in their search for a Quality & Technical Manager. This is a Permanent role, based in Buckinghamshire.
This business sits at the forefront of their category, combining scientific precision with artisanal quality to deliver exceptional flavour and craftsmanship. The Quality & Technical Manager will play a key role in bridging R&D, NPD, Production, and Commercial, ensuring world-class standards of quality, compliance, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead all aspects of product quality from goods inwards to finished goods, ensuring robust control of operations, SOPs, and training.
* Develop and oversee testing protocols, data monitoring systems, and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain consistent quality.
* Manage all technical compliance and accreditation programmes including SALSA, BRC, and retailer audits.
* Own relationships with external laboratories and ensure internal testing aligns with industry standards.
* Act as the key link between R&D and Production, translating scientific insights into scalable production methods and maintaining technical rigour.
* Partner with the Engineering team to support specification and commissioning of new production equipment and systems.
* Analyse production data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for efficiency and quality improvement.
What We’re Looking For:
* Extensive experience in a technical leadership role within food or beverage manufacturing, ideally wine, beer, or spirits.
* Strong scientific background, ideally in microbiology, biochemistry, or fermentation sciences.
* Proven track record managing BRC, SALSA, or major retail audit compliance.
* Analytical and data-driven, with the ability to interpret complex quality data to drive improvement.
* Collaborative communicator with a hands-on approach and the ability to work cross-functionally with R&D, NPD, and Commercial teams.
* Positive, problem-solving mindset with a passion for innovation and product excellence.
