We have been selling premium wine since 1964 and our expertise has grown along with our award-winning portfolio.We are looking to recruit a Route Transport Planner who will be responsible for organising customer delivery routes so that our vehicles are within weight whilst maximising vehicle fill rates. You will also assist the Depot Manager with daily driver debriefings, checking off paperwork and stock returns.Prime Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)Planning the driver delivery routes daily using our software system (PODFather) for assigned regional dispatch locations. Working to various fixed customer order cut-off times to ensure the smooth running of the operation.Ensuring that information linked to deliveries is communicated effectively, responding quickly and efficiently to queries, giving pro-active solutions. Supporting with daily driver debriefings and stock reconciliation for returned products.In conjunction with your line manager and colleagues, reviewing daily reports and providing feedback to improve processes and performance.Collating and analysing KPI dataTroubleshooting where necessary to avoid delivery delaysKnowledge & ExperienceTo have a good understanding of delivery distribution planning procedures.A good geographical knowledge of London’s major town, conurbations and road network.Excellent written and verbal communication skills and confident at developing relationships with internal and external parties.Must be highly computer literate, with a standard knowledge of Microsoft Office & Excel.Keen attention to detail with the ability to make key decisions to support the smooth day to day running within the transport planning team. A self-starting, proactive and hands-on individual who can offer proactive solutions.Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines and respond to urgent deliveries or issues that arise Working Pattern - This role is 37.5 hours per week, currently planned for Monday to Thursday 09:00 – 18:00 and Friday 9:00 – 15:30, with 1 hour lunchbreak per day. However, it is expected that the successful candidate will work the hours necessary to fulfil the requirements of the job. Out of hours cover for your colleagues within Transport Planning when necessary and this is rewarded in overtime or time off in lieu. It is possible that the working pattern may change slightly due to circumstances beyond our control.
