Field Support Engineer
Location: Frimley - 5 days per week onsite
Security Clearance: Candidates are required to be eligible for SC clearance and be a sole UK national.
At DXC Technology, we deliver essential IT services that help our customers modernise systems, optimise data architectures, and ensure security and scalability across public and private sector organisations. We are looking for a Site / Field Support Engineer to provide on-site field support to customers including installation, and servicing and repairing of systems and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide first-line technical support by resolving customer queries, diagnosing faults, and escalating complex issues to the appropriate teams.
2. Act as the primary customer liaison and central point of contact for administrative and technical matters, ensuring regular communication and status updates.
3. Deliver on-site field support, including installation, maintenance, repair, and break-fix activities for managed devices, systems, and equipment.
4. Perform system analysis, troubleshooting, and reporting to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement.
5. Assist with system design, process flows, discrete modelling, and the development or enhancement of technical solutions and programs.
6. Collaborate with customer engineering teams to gather requirements, assess design changes, and support overall solution delivery.
7. Conduct security audits of network-connected devices, including scanning, compliance checks, risk identification, and reporting.
8. Manage IT assets, stock, and loan equipment throughout their lifecycle, ensuring adherence to inventory and asset management procedures.
What You’ll Bring
9. Experience working with the company's hardware, software and equipment products.
10. Experience working with customer technology and support requirements.
11. Experience working with process and/or system design concepts.
12. Experience working with appropriate programming languages, operating systems and software.
13. Experience working with engineering principles and practices.
Desirable Skills
14. Basic Network Knowledge (Patching, tracing switch information etc.).
15. Service Now Ticketing System Experience.
