As the Retail Manager of our flagship store, you will be responsible for bringing to life a standout retail space that sets the standard for style, impact and community connection. Showcasing your leadership skills and creative flair you will shape the success of a shop that represents the best of Marie Curie retail.
Job Description
Role responsibilities
* Support and develop surrounding London stores by providing guidance, support and objective setting. This includes conducting store visits to improve KPI and overall performance.
* Use eye for design and style to curate donated product through great visual merchandising with enhanced feature displays and strong commercial windows to drive sales and footfall.
* Manage staff and volunteers, recruiting, training, managing and supporting volunteers and staff members to ensure effective operation of the store.
* Oversee effective management of the store’s digital marketplaces, including eBay, ensuring the listing process remains compliant and income is maximised.
* Ensure sales targets are met and direct costs are kept within managed budgets.
* Build and manage effective internal and external relationships to increase supporter engagement, generate quality stock and support key Marie Curie activities.
Key Criteria
* Solid retail experience, preferably in fashion/clothing within a multi‑site store environment.
* Experience in managing a team. Managing volunteers would be an advantage.
* Comprehensive understanding of retailing and merchandising display.
* Experience of cash handling and financial management procedures (including completion of sales records).
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer‑first attitude and the ability to communicate with tact and discretion.
* Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload, balancing competing demands.
* Understanding of health and safety procedures in a retail environment.
In this role you will have sole responsibility for the running of the store, which will involve lone working. Due to this, we are unable to recruit anyone under the age of 18.
Salary: £30 000 per annum + benefits + London allowance if applicable.
