Our client is an independent firm of Chartered Accountants & Business Advisors based in Edinburgh. They are loyal and pro-active business partners who support individual and business clients throughout Scotland. They are looking to recruit a Personal Tax Assistant Manager to join their dedicated tax team, with a focus on personal tax compliance.
Reporting to Tax Director, you will manage a varied portfolio of clients including HNWI’s, professional partnerships, company directors, sole traders and property investors. Your primary responsibilities will include:
4. Managing all aspects of compliance work through to submission of tax returns, including income tax, CGT and IHT using CCH software
5. Reviewing and completing personal, partnership and trust tax returns and P11Ds
6. Discussing individual tax affairs with clients in meetings, by e-mail and telephone
7. Assisting the Partners with ad hoc technical matters and tax planning (optional)
8. Monitoring budgets, preparation of fees, ensuring deadlines are met and quality standards are adhered to.
Coming from a technical background in Personal / Private Client Tax, you will ideally ATT and/or CTA qualified, or qualified by experience. You will have relevant tax compliance experience gained in either accounting or legal profession. Experience at review level is advantageous. Strong communication and team working skills are imperative as is the ability to prioritise workloads and meet strict deadlines.
