Role summary
SailGP is seeking a full-time Financial Operations & Payroll Manager who will be based in London to support the Finance department in payables, payment processing, payroll, monthly reporting and ad hoc requests to implement strong internal controls and support the Group finance function. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, a talent for analysing financial data, ability to learn and work with financial systems while looking for efficiencies through automation and work efficiently under tight timelines.
Essential Responsibilities
* Payments Processing: Manage and process weekly payment runs in multiple currencies for all SailGP entities in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring compliance with company policies and approval workflows.
* Bank Reconciliations: Perform and review weekly bank reconciliations in NetSuite for all business entities, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of reconciling items.
* Payroll Management: Point of contact with payroll providers to support process payroll for multiple SailGP entities, ensuring compliance with local regulations and accurate reporting
* Automation: Manage and support onboarding of new financial systems to support drive efficiencies in finance processes
* Credit Card Management: Oversee monthly corporate credit card processes, review and reconciliation of transactions in line with company policy.
* Month-End Close: Support the month-end close process, including preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, journals and payroll reconciliations.
* VAT/GST: Liaise with advisors to support VAT/GST returns in compliance with tax reporting requirements across SailGP entities.
* Manager: support and develop two direct reports who support the AP function.
* Compliance & Controls: Maintain strong internal controls, assist with audit requests, and ensure compliance with statutory and tax requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
* Collaboration: Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders (banks, payroll providers, auditors, pension, benefit providers) to ensure smooth financial operations.
* Any other adhoc tasks or projects that the finance team needs support with.

Requirements
* Passion for forging a career in Finance and Accounting
* Experience working in a financial accounting level position in a finance team (desirable)
* Meticulous attention to detail
* Educated to degree level or equivalent
* Highly computer literate with capability in MS Office and related business and communication tools
* Hands-on self-starter with proven ability to multi-task.
* Strong organisational, problem-solving and decision-making skills
* Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
* Ability to operate both independently and in a collaborative, team environment
* Ability to work effectively and thrive in a fast-paced, start-up environment
* Excellent spoken and written communication skills
* Culturally sensitive and able to effectively work globally
* Role will be based in London with the requirement of three days in the London office
Key Expectations
* Ideally one-to-two years exposure working within financial accounting
* Previous experience working as a Financial Accountant, Payroll Assistant, Payroll Executive, or in a similar finance or payroll-related role
