Location: Warwick (Hybrid - 50/50)
Contract Duration: 3 months initial (until 26/10/2026)
Clearance: Must be SC Cleared or eligible for SC Clearance
Rate: £450.00 a day via Umbrella
Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Data Security Engineer to join a high‑performing cyber security team. This is an exciting contract opportunity to play a key role in protecting sensitive data and strengthening security frameworks within a leading organisation. Your responsibilities will include designing, implementing, and maintaining data security solutions, ensuring robust protection against evolving cyber threats while maintaining compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement data security policies to safeguard sensitive information
* Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability testing to identify potential security gaps
* Design and maintain encryption, access control, and authentication systems
* Monitor network activity, detect threats, and respond to security incidents
* Collaborate with IT and infrastructure teams to integrate security solutions
* Ensure compliance with regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and ISO 27001
* Stay up to date with emerging cybersecurity threats and industry best practices
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field
* Strong background in data protection, encryption, and security frameworks
* Hands‑on experience with firewalls, SIEM tools, and intrusion detection systems
* Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
Desirable Certifications
* CISSP, CISM, or CEH (preferred but not essential)
