Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a Colorectal Research Fellow. The Colorectal Team have a record of leading and delivering high quality research projects across a broad range of subspecialities.
General surgical services in Northumbria are delivered by a Trustwide multi-disciplinary team approach. Main duties of the job
The post holder will receive clinical training in Colorectal Surgery and provide clinical support for a portfolio of Colorectal Surgery research.
Contributing equally to 24/7 cover of Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital emergency general surgery with 1 in 14 rota Night and a 1:7 daytime.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* MBBS or equivalent
* MRCS or equivalent
* Eligible for full GMC registration
Experience
* Previous experience in Colorectal Surgery
* Shall have completed at least four years' full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed‑term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty
* MD or higher degree
* Presentations at national or international level
* First author publications in Pubmed cited journals
* Satisfactory completion of higher surgical training or equivalent
