We are hiring a Speech and Language Therapist to join our in-house clinical team at Baston House School, Kent.
Role
We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our in-house clinical team at Baston House School. You will work with the education team to embed Speech and Language Therapy approaches at the whole school level through assessment, observation, consultation, training and joint interventions. You will support pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs, and you will be supported by multidisciplinary clinical teams, a practice standards team, and our OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working. You will have a designated clinical supervisor and on-site Lead Clinician for operational support. You will be highly present within the school and work collaboratively with education colleagues while contributing to staff training. Regular reviews, reflection and consultations with education staff will support embedding clinical excellence.

Responsibilities
* Embed Speech and Language Therapy approaches in collaboration with the education team.
* Conduct assessments, provide observation, consultation, training and joint interventions.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in staff training.
* Maintain a high level of presence and visibility within the school.
* Coordinate staff training and contribute to clinical governance and supervision.
* Engage in ongoing reviews, reflection and consultations with education colleagues.
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
* Recognised Speech & Language Therapy degree
* Valid and up to date HCPC Registration
* Registered member of RCSLT
* Minimum 3 years’ practicing experience with this client group in a similar setting
* Expertise in a range of SaLT approaches and clinical understanding
* Experience in multidisciplinary working across settings, with some responsibility for service & team performance
* Strong communication with families/carers and ability to provide training and supervision
* Experience in participating in research projects and audits
* Excellent relationship-building, analytical and judgmental skills
* Excellent oral and written communication; strong time management and organisational skills
* Advanced knowledge of core SaLT practice and RCSLT standards
* Knowledge of neurodivergence, cognitive differences/difficulties and trauma-informed practice
Location and Contract
Location: Baston House School, Kent – Baston House School
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 8:30am - 4:30pm Mon – Fri. Part-time hours may be considered.
Contract: Permanent. Term-time only, or flexibility around full-time contract can be discussed based on personal circumstances.
Salary: £35,000 - £53,200 FTE (DOE) plus £5,000 Welcome Bonus (one payment of £2,500 after one month and £2,500 after final probation; £3,000 Relocation package where applicable). Basic grade SALT from £33,000+, Specialist from £39,500+, Highly Specialist from £48,000+ (T&Cs apply)
Essential: Full valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
