Overview
Mobile Fitter - Maintenance (Silo) at Tarmac is based in Stoke, with travel to various sites. The role involves fault finding on control panels for Mobile Silos, understanding inverters and level indicators, and providing maintenance to keep silos in safe, working condition. A company van is provided; some travel and occasional overnight stays may be required, with expenses covered according to policy.
Responsibilities
* PAT testing portable appliances and performing fault diagnosis
* Reduce breakdowns and carry out planned preventive maintenance while maintaining stock levels
* Ensure all work is carried out in line with Health and Safety policies and documented accordingly
* Maintain plant equipment to a high standard and in a timely manner
* Provide a structured approach to fault finding and planned maintenance
* Ensure Mobile Silos are supplied to customers in a safe working condition
* Maintain production by supporting online and mobile plant when required
* Maintain van stock levels
* Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Contribute to a zero-incident Health & Safety site
* Support site production improvements and maintain housekeeping standards of the company van
The Ideal Candidate
* Experience in industrial electrical/mechanical engineering
* Fitting experience with hand tools and training in proper manual handling
* Currently working in or have experience in the construction industry
* Experience with gearboxes, motors and pumps
* Understanding of LOTOTO (isolation of plant and equipment)
* Ability to operate all machinery on plant to required standards
* Time-served fitter with proven practical experience
* Computer literacy to compose emails and write reports; comfortable with spreadsheets
* Minimum Level 1 Welding qualification
* IEE 17th Edition qualifications (desirable but not essential)
