PE Global is currently recruiting for a Team Lead Microbiologist for a leading multi-national confectionery, food, beverage, and snack food company client based in Wokingham.
This is a contract role until Dec 2025, working hours are 36 hours per week, 9am – 5pm, Mo-Fr.
Pay Rate is up to £20.94 per hour PAYE.
Duties of the role/Responsibilities
* Play a key role in ensuring that projects are performed and supervised effectively and accurately within agreed timescales and to appropriate quality standards.
* This role focuses on routine and investigative analyses of products and potential method development and validations using techniques such as Bioburdens, Total Viable Aerobic Count, Endotoxins, Environmental Monitoring and more as required .
* Supervise and train junior members of the team as required.
* Client contact and administrative support for laboratory management.
* Responsible for the maintenance of the instrument and lab systems including checking and approving supplier’s reports.
* Leading a small team.
* Work as part of an efficient analytical team
* Work to the highest standards of safety and quality by ensuring that appropriate COSHHs, risk assessments and SOPs are understood and followed.
Education/Experience
* Educated to Degree or PhD in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent relevant experience in a laboratory.
* Good understanding of lab equipment.
* Scientific understanding and ability to independently conduct chemical analysis in relevant area.
* Experience with routine and investigative analyses of products and potential method development and validations using techniques such as Bioburdens, Total Viable Aerobic Count, Endotoxins, Environmental Monitoring.
