Community Safety Patrol Officer (CSPO)
Are you a great problem solver who thrives working outdoors and wants to help residents feel safer? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a CSPO.
What You Will Do
* Carry out high-visibility patrols across the borough to reassure the public
* Engage with residents, businesses, and local organisations to build community confidence
* Challenge and address unacceptable behaviour in a firm but fair manner
* Support and work alongside the police and other partners to tackle local issues
* Act as an ambassador for the council and police
We’re Seeking Someone Who
* Is confident, approachable, and comfortable engaging with people from all walks of life
* Can think on their feet and use initiative to solve problems in dynamic situations
* Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Is resilient and able to remain calm and professional in challenging circumstances
Please note this post requires shift work, including regular unsocial hours and the ability to conduct patrols on foot and by bicycle in all weathers.
A clear DBS check and Level 2 Non-Police Personnel Vetting must be achieved before the successful candidate begins employment. This means that you must have been resident in the UK for at least the last 3 years.
The candidate will be required to meet Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS) standards.
