An inclusive and nurturing secondary school in Reading is seeking a qualified and experienced SENCO to lead on Special Educational Needs provision across the school. This is a permanent position for a dedicated SENCO who is passionate about breaking down barriers to learning and ensuring every student reaches their full potential.\n\nAs a SENCO, you will work at the heart of the school’s commitment to inclusion, providing strategic direction and day-to-day leadership for all aspects of SEND provision. You will lead a skilled team of teaching assistants and collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies.\n\nResponsibilities of the SENCO role include:\n\n * \n\n Leading the development and implementation of the school’s SEND strategy.\n\n * \n\n Overseeing EHCPs, assessments, and interventions for students with special needs.\n\n * \n\n Supporting and training teachers in best practices for inclusive teaching.\n\n * \n\n Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of SEND legislation and guidance.\n\n * \n\n Working closely with senior leadership to ensure SEND provision aligns with school goals.\n\n * \n\n Liaising with external professionals and agencies to support student needs.\n\n * \n\n Monitoring progress of students with SEND and adjusting support accordingly.\n\n * \n\n Ensuring the school meets all legal and ethical responsibilities under the SEND Code of Practice.\n\nRequirements:\n\n * \n\n NASENCO qualification (or willingness to complete it).\n\n * \n\n Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).\n\n * \n\n Proven experience working with students with SEND.\n\n * \n\n Excellent communication, leadership, and organisation skills.\n\nThis is an outstanding opportunity for a SENCO to make a meaningful impact in a school that is committed to inclusivity and excellence for all
