Offer description

Are you ready to take the next step in your digital marketing or web content career? We’re offering an exciting opportunity to join our Digital Content Team within the Marketing, Recruitment and Communications department.

We’re looking for a Digital Content Editor who’s enthusiastic, creative, and passionate about digital storytelling. In this two‑year fixed‑term role, you’ll lead a key project supporting our Connected Curriculum – working collaboratively across departments and with academic teams to showcase innovative, employment‑focused aspects of our teaching.

You’ll be at the forefront of creating high‑performing content that enhances the University’s reputation, supports student recruitment, and highlights our strengths in student experience, teaching quality, research impact, and industry relevance.

What you’ll do:

* Develop engaging, timely, and audience‑focused content for the University’s websites.
* Collaborate with academic and professional teams to bring the Connected Curriculum to life.
* Audit, edit, and optimise existing content using data, UX insights, and research to improve accessibility, SEO, and overall content design.
* Champion content that reflects our values and drives performance.

What we’re looking for:

* Proven experience in writing and editing digital web content.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills.
* A team player with a customer‑focused mindset and the ability to work with stakeholders across the University.
* A keen eye for detail and a passion for creating content that connects with diverse audiences.
* Well‑organised and has demonstrable experience of managing a content project.
* Drupal CMS experience is beneficial, but not essential as training will be provided.

If you’re ready to make a meaningful contribution and grow your career in a dynamic, supportive environment, we’d love to hear from you.

Whilst there is a need to be in Portsmouth a few days a week, hybrid working is available for this role. This appointment is a 2‑year fixed‑term contract from December 2025 – December 2027.

Location: Portsmouth, England, United Kingdom

Benefits

* Competitive salary, including incremental progression within your scale.
* Generous leave entitlement of 32–35 days a year, plus bank holidays, and an additional Christmas closure.
* Family‑friendly policies supporting flexible working.
* Staff discounts and loyalty schemes.
* Staff car parking and discounted public travel.
* Excellent training and development opportunities.
* Recreation facilities, including discounted gym membership, food on campus schemes, use of the Library and staff social activities.
* Discounted learning.
* Start‑up business mentoring from expert entrepreneurs via our Entrepreneurs in Residence programme.
* The perks don’t stop there – click ‘apply’ for further information on My Reward and Benefits
