About the role
Exciting opportunities have arisen at Didcot to join the management team as a Band 3 Warehouse Team Manager. This role will include weekend work.
Main Responsibilities
1. Ensuring the efficient, timely, and secure workflow of stock through the warehouse from receipt to dispatch.
2. Managing, coaching, and training a team of warehouse operatives to achieve flexibility, productivity, and service level commitments to customers.
You will need
Key Accountabilities:
* Leading, motivating, and developing warehouse team members through performance management to achieve KPIs for cost, service, and people.
* Ensuring welfare, security, health, and safety of team members.
* Deputising for the warehouse manager.
* Liaising and consulting with the warehouse manager on customer service priorities.
* Resolving customer service issues in a timely manner.
* Recruiting and training warehouse operatives to maintain KPIs.
* Controlling absence and holiday allocations.
* Conducting disciplinary and grievance investigations, with actions up to a final written warning.
* Maintaining departmental KPIs.
* Maintaining good colleague relationships, including trade union representatives.
* Protecting the company's stock from theft or damage.
* Working within provided budgetary constraints for warehouse expenditure and implementing plans to reduce stock loss and control MHE damage.
Skills/Knowledge:
o Management/supervisory experience in a unionized environment.
o Experience in a customer service environment.
o Experience dealing with grievances and disciplinary issues.
o Excellent PC and organizational skills.
o Methodical approach to figures and reporting.
o Broad understanding of warehouse and transport processes.
o Good working knowledge of warehouse management systems.
o Understanding of people planning and scheduling processes.
o Extensive knowledge in relevant areas.
