Overview
Alder Hey Children's Hospital, in partnership with Venus, is offering three CBT IAPT training places for 2025/2026. One post will be hosted by Sefton CAMHS, one with Venus, and one with Parenting 2000. The successful applicants will work within Sefton CAMHS, Venus or Parenting 2000 as part of multidisciplinary teams delivering, under supervision, high-quality, outcome-informed, focused and evidence-based interventions for children and young people. This role includes 200 hours of modality and case-specific practice for full-time courses.
Responsibilities
* Work within multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based interventions for children and young people in accordance with the competency framework for the therapeutic modality.
* Work across partner services for the remaining days of the week to gain necessary clinical practice hours to fulfil the academic programme.
* Engage in supervision and use outcomes-informed approaches to inform practice.
Qualifications and Experience
* Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) or willingness to undertake the PGD in CBT as part of the role.
* Band 5 or Band 6 level consideration depending on experience for Mental Health Practitioner roles.
* If already holding a core qualification (e.g., Mental Health Nurse RMN/RLD, Mental Health Practitioner, Clinical Psychologist, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, or creative therapies such as Art Therapy) with proof of relevant professional registration, or a recognised degree-level health & social care qualification with BABCP Knowledge Skills and Attributes (2) requirements, applicants may be considered for Band 6.
* If you have a degree-level qualification and/or equivalent experience in a child and family-related field (e.g., social work, youth and community work, nursing), you may be considered for Band 5 with knowledge and skills framework eligibility to apply to Band 5.
* Please provide information in your application about prior CBT experience, including Clinical Practice, Supervision received, Academic Knowledge, and CBT models/texts that have influenced your practice.
