Personnel Selection are assisting with the recruitment of a night shift Final Quality Inspector / Masting Operative. This is a permanent role working 37 hours per week Monday to Thursday 21:00 to 06:45. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays off, giving you a long weekend. Our client is an established family owned company based within Andover Hampshire UK.
JOB FUNCTION
This job will involve ensuring products meet quality standards before reaching the customer, interpreting technical drawings, and carrying out final inspections in line with specifications and safety requirements. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail who enjoys working in a manufacturing environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete given jobs within the required specification.
Reading and interpret product drawings.
Delivery of product to down stream customer that meets Quality, Cost and Delivery requirements and does so within established safety parameters and with a “right first time” ethic.
Utilise cross skilling to ensure operational flexibility to respond to changing business needs / new opportunities.
Work to current “best practise” to our current Works Instructions.
Work flexibly within a team environment to ensure the required Quality, Cost and Delivery are achieved.
Assume personal responsibility for Health and Safety at Work.
Wear all required Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) in line with the Safe Systems of Work.
Maintain housekeeping to the established standards.
Comply with manual handling recommendations when required.
CRITERIA AND SKILLS REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED:
Loyal history of working within manufacturing or engineering backgrounds.
Ability to plan, prioritise, and organise workloads.
Previous experience of working from technical drawings and diagrams including being able to extract information.
Proven background in maintaining high quality standards.
Experience of polishing and ensuring product is maintained at a highly smart and presentable standard using air tools.
Able to work to fine tolerances.
Competency in working with hand tools and working at height is essential. Use of platform ladders on a regular basis.
Ability to plan, prioritise and organise workloads.
Capable of interpreting and reporting data.
Working from a technical drawing- Competent in working to and extracting information from a technical drawing.
Pro-actively participate in Continuous Improvement.
Communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels and with different departments.
