EDGE INNOVATE is currently recruiting for a Paint Shop Supervisor to join our busy Paint Shop. The Paint Shop Supervisor will be responsible for managing the Paint Shop facility to maintain a cost-effective and efficient manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Service Delivery:
o Daily operational supervision of a team of paint shop operatives.
o Providing advice and guidance on all paint shop operations (blasting, prepping, painting, repairs, etc.).
o Coaching and mentoring staff to develop skills.
o Estimating painting times, staffing, and costs to maximize efficiency.
o Developing and improving manufacturing methods considering Health & Safety and Quality standards.
o Planning workplaces for optimal space utilization.
o Conducting quality checks before and after jobs.
o Minimizing re-work requirements.
o Servicing the Fitting Shop and meeting production targets.
o Reporting progress to the Production Manager.
o Collaborating with management on production schedules and capabilities.
o Monitoring performance and establishing standard production rates.
o Streamlining purchasing and reducing costs.
2. Performance Improvement:
o Applying the company's performance management system.
o Supporting staff in achieving KPIs and professional development.
o Managing staff performance effectively.
3. Financial and Resource Management:
o Ensuring efficient operation within financial targets.

Person Specification:
Essential: Degree qualification with 2-3 years supervisory experience; on-the-job painting experience with heavy machinery.
Desirable: Experience managing a Paint Shop; management/leadership qualification.
Skills & Competencies: Leadership, communication, problem-solving, planning, time management, computer skills.
Circumstances: Ability to work flexible hours.
