As part of our continued growth, we are looking to appoint an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager to strengthen our global sales and market presence and help deliver our ambitious growth plans.
The Role
The Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in leading sales and business development activity, identifying and securing new opportunities, and strengthening long‑term customer relationships. Acting as a key interface between clients and internal teams, you will take ownership of the full sales lifecycle and contribute directly to revenue growth, asset utilisation, and strategic positioning within the subsea market.
This is a senior, outward‑facing role requiring strong commercial acumen, deep subsea market knowledge, and the ability to build credibility with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales Execution
* Lead regional sales and business development activities in line with group revenue, utilisation, and growth targets
* Manage the full sales cycle from initial engagement through to contract negotiation and closure
* Identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities through market insight, direct outreach, and networking
* Develop and maintain strategic account plans and sales plans detailing delivery of agreed targets
Customer & Market Engagement
* Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers, partners, and key industry stakeholders
* Maintain deep knowledge of subsea, vessel, and ROV markets to support informed and credible client discussions
* Deliver presentations and engage with senior decision‑makers to clearly articulate CI Subsea’s value proposition
* Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regional dynamics, providing insight to guide focus and strategy
Collaboration & Internal Alignment
* Work closely with technical and asset teams to understand customer needs and develop integrated, end‑to‑end solutions
* Support marketing activities, including lead generation and representation at industry events and conferences
* Provide structured feedback to improve service offerings, brand perception, and overall sales effectiveness
* Contribute to group‑level revenue and utilisation forecasting and support budgeting processes
1. Governance & Professional Standards
* Prioritise sales activity to align with agreed business objectives
* Prepare and present key insights, pipeline updates, and performance reports to senior management
* Uphold and promote CI Subsea’s values, ethics, integrity, and commitment to corporate social responsibility
Essential Experience & Qualifications
Experience
* Strong commercial, business development, or account management background within the subsea industry
* Sound understanding of subsea operations, vessels, and the ROV marketplace
* Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the subsea sector with an established industry network
* At least 3 years’ experience in a dedicated business development or sales role
* Experience supporting or delivering EPCI projects
* Knowledge of and networks within EU and Africa (AF) markets
Qualifications
* Degree in a business, engineering, or technical discipline
