Your expertise will help facilitate the smooth movement of medical records, materials, and equipment, supporting our clinicians and departments to deliver exceptional healthcare. What you’ll do
* Monitoring and managing the Hive system to ensure timely completion of all portering jobs
* Allocating work and responsibilities to portering staff, ensuring proper use and return of handheld devices
* Coordinating staff training, including moving and handling, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
* Managing staff scheduling, including annual leave, sickness absence, and conducting performance appraisals
* Communicating effectively with healthcare and support staff to resolve issues and coordinate portering services
* Ensuring all portering duties are performed in line with Trust policies, including incident reporting and compliance
* Providing emergency response coordination during incidents such as cardiac arrests, fires, and other critical situations
What you bring
* Good communication skills to enable communication with colleagues, patients and clients regarding on job duties
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Good level of customer care
* Experience of working in a healthcare environment (desirable)
* Good understanding of health and safety and manual handling practices
* Ability to respond constructively and professionally to unpredictable situations
* Attend mandatory induction and health and safety related training and all other required training
