Location: Meadowfield House, Meadowfield, Fulwood, Preston, PR2 9NX
Hours: 10.5 hours per week
Hourly Rate: £13.45per hour
Rota Pattern:
1. Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday
2. Week 2: Thursday and Friday
3. 09:00-12:00
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Laundry Assistant to support the smooth and efficient running of the laundry service at Meadowfield House. The successful candidate will ensure a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene, and garment care for residents and staff, while working both independently and as part of the wider domestic team.
Key Responsibilities
4. Collect, sort, wash, dry, iron, and neatly fold laundry items including clothing, bedding, and towels.
5. Operate laundry machinery (washers, dryers, irons) safely and efficiently.
6. Follow correct procedures for handling soiled or contaminated laundry.
7. Ensure laundry is returned to the correct residents promptly.
8. Maintain cleanliness of the laundry room and equipment.
9. Monitor stock levels of detergents and laundry supplies and report shortages when needed.
10. Adhere to all infection control, health and safety, and organisational policies.
11. Provide excellent customer service to residents, staff, and visitors.
Person Specification
Essential:
12. Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
13. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
14. Reliable, punctual, and committed to high standards.
15. Basic understanding of health and safety and hygiene practices.
Desirable:
16. Previous experience in a laundry, cleaning, or housekeeping role.
17. Experience working in a care, or healthcare environment.
