About The Role
Are you passionate about solving problems and finding solutions for the future? Looking for a new challenge? Do you have experience as a multi‑skilled Engineer? As an inclusive, forward‑thinking business, we take pride in investing in our factory maintenance across Avara Foods and are looking for a highly competent and motivated Multi‑Skilled Engineer to join our team, based at our site in Scropton, Derbyshire. The role is factory and workshop based, so you’ll be working in a fast‑paced, dynamic FMCG factory environment which is noisy and refrigerated in some areas, manufacturing short shelf life products where hygiene standards are critical. You’ll work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern 05:00–17:00.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensuring maintenance is carried out in line with the schedule and effective and efficient corrective action is taken.
* A quick and effective response to breakdowns, where possible identifying root cause and suggesting improvements.
* Communicating unscheduled breakdowns to the Engineering Shift Manager.
* Demonstrating good problem solving techniques for mechanical and electrical issues.
Qualifications
* A relevant engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications (BTEC & NVQ L3, HND, Degree, etc).
* Manufacturing Engineering experience, ideally within food manufacturing.
* A familiarity with processing machinery and the ability to fault‑find.
* An electrical bias with sound mechanical knowledge.
