Job overview
Applications are invited for a full time HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist with experience in both Haematology and Blood transfusion. Candidates need to possess an IBMS approved Biomedical Science degree.
Candidates will need to be enthusiastic, well-motivated and innovative, with good organisational and practical abilities supported by scientific knowledge. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to support individual and team working is essential. All of these skills and attributes are in line with the Trust's Right Care Behaviours.
The successful candidate will work primarily on the Bradford site but there will also be a requirement to work on a rotational basis between both hospital sites when required.
The department is well equipped, including Sysmex XN 3000 system, ACL TOP 550's, and Alifax Test1 analysers. The Blood Transfusion department is fully automated, supported by two Ortho Vision platforms and electronic blood product issue via Blood Track.
The department operates a 24/7 service utilising a 37.5 hour shift system in which you will be required to fully participate following appropriate training.
We offer excellent opportunities for continuing professional development (CPD) and further study. The laboratory holds full UKAS accreditation (ISO 15189:2022) and is an IBMS‑approved training site.
