We have an exciting opportunity to join as a Production Technician. We have multiple opportunities across our region with vacancies in North Wiltshire, South Wiltshire, Yeovil, Dorchester and Exmoor. Site locations include a variety of surface water, spring and borehole sources, water treatment centres and stream support boreholes. The role is to operate, maintain and optimise water production sites to provide a reliable supply of high-quality drinking water while minimising environmental impact. This is a 24/7 business with some out-of-hours standby and weekend work. Full training will be provided, including an industry-recognised NVQ in water treatment. A company van will be provided for business use.
What you’ll do
* Work as part of a team to operate, maintain and optimise water production sites.
* Complete a mix of planned maintenance (ensuring compliance) and reactive work (responding to site shutdowns and water quality issues).
* Prioritise tasks and, once trained, take ownership of your own area of sites.
* Adhere to health and safety requirements and company procedures to ensure safety of yourself and others.
What you’ll need
* Experience in the water industry or understanding of water treatment processes is desirable but not essential.
* Logical thinking to solve problems and interpret/analyse data.
* Good communication skills to relay technical information clearly, verbally and in writing.
* Flexible approach with strong teamwork ethos; able to work independently.
* Ability to stay focused and calm in high-pressure situations.
* Microsoft Office knowledge (PC literacy essential).
* Willingness to live within the geographical areas listed in this advert.
