Job Description
The Senior/ Staff Equipment Engineer adapts and applies engineering principles and techniques in setting up, maintaining, and continuously improving engineering equipment and processes. He/She leverages on technical and engineering skills to resolve technical and engineering issues and manage simple engineering projects. He/She also implements plans for improvements in production efficiency and effectiveness, while ensuring compliance with workplace safety and health procedures and other regulatory requirements.
His/Her duties require him/her to work on the shop floor. He/She is required to have strong communication skills to lead indirect work team, where necessary.
Responsibilities
* Setting up and managing Equipment Engineering (EqE) infrastructure, including data management systems and engineering tools.
* Procuring and commissioning facilities such as measuring instruments, assembly tools, calibration equipment and work areas such as soldering and electrical engineering workspaces.
* Developing and implementing structured development processes, from requirement definition through handover to production.
* Supporting technology evaluation, introduction and continuous improvement.
* Establishing, performing and documenting maintenance and calibration activities for equipment and tools.
* Creating, updating, and redesigning documentation and product fixtures.
* Providing 1st- and 2nd-level technical support for equipment such as tools and processes.
* Performing systematic troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of equipment and process issues.
* Building and managing spare parts for the department according to the organizational system.
* Actively participating in jig and fixture development projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
* Provide technical guidance to peers and subordinates.
* Develop training programmes for staff.
Requirements
* Master's degree in Mechanical/ Electronics/ System Engineering with minimum 3 years’ Engineering hands-on work experience in a high mix, low volume manufacturing environment. Candidates with more years of experience will be considered for Senior Engineer position.
* Ability to demonstrate competency in SAP, TeamCenter, MATLAB, Statistics Process Control Software (SPSS) will be an advantage.
* Proficiency in MS Office
