Join Our Assembly Team
Conquip Engineering Group is seeking a reliable and hard-working Assembly Operative to join our busy manufacturing team in Hook. This hands-on role involves assembling plant and machinery used within the construction industry. You will work as part of a skilled team, building equipment to meet the weekly production schedule whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, problem-solving, and working in a fast-paced production environment. Forklift experience is essential, as material handling and vehicle loading form a key part of the role. We welcome applications from candidates currently working in engineering workshops, manufacturing environments, fabrication shops, construction equipment suppliers, or similar mechanical assembly roles seeking a stable, long-term opportunity.
Forklift & Yard Work
This role involves regular forklift operation to move materials around the yard and workshop, as well as loading vehicles for delivery.
You will be operating equipment such as:
3-tonne JCB counterbalance forklift
8-tonne Combi-Lift (training provided)
Experience working in busy yards or warehouse environments is highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
As an Assembly Operative, your duties will include:
Assembling mechanical and non-mechanical plant and machinery used within the construction sector
Fitting components, materials and parts to equipment
Carrying out basic hydraulic fitting and assembly
Supporting basic electrical work
Maintaining a clean and organised workshop and warehouse
Loading vehicles and moving materials using forklift trucks
Collaborating with the wider team to meet weekly production schedules
Troubleshooting and resolving assembly issues as they arise
Adhering to all company health & safety policies and procedures
You will be on your feet throughout the day, working closely with colleagues to ensure production targets are consistently achieved.
