This role focuses on providing high-quality legal advice on public law children’s matters, including care and adoption proceedings, ensuring compliance with statutory duties and protecting the best interests of clients. Key Responsibilities: Advise on and conduct proceedings relating to the care and protection of children and young people. Represent the organisation in courts and tribunals, including undertaking advocacy where required. Provide expert legal advice on child protection, public law outline (PLO), care proceedings, and adoption matters. Support clients in negotiations, judicial reviews, and safeguarding issues. Develop and deliver legal training to key stakeholders, enhancing awareness of children’s social care law. Contribute to policy development and legal strategy, supporting best practices within the organisation. About You: Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive with experience in public law children’s matters. Strong knowledge of childcare law, care and adoption proceedings, and local government legal frameworks. Ability to handle a complex and sensitive caseload while delivering timely and effective legal support. Advocacy experience is desirable, with the ability to represent clients in courts and tribunals.
