Job Title: Semi Senior Accountant Location : York Salary : £28,000 - £35,000 per annum Hours : Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 17:00pm Hybrid : 2 days working from home Our client is a long established financial accounting and bookkeeping firm with decades of experience supporting a wide range of businesses. As a Semi Senior Accountant, you will work closely with senior staff and managers, providing experience across accounts, tax and advisory work. You will assist with a varied portfolio of clients, gaining exposure to both practice and client facing responsibilities while developing your skills and career in a friendly environment. Key Responsibilities: Prepare year end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies. Prepare management accounts. Complete corporation tax computations and returns. Prepare VAT returns and personal tax returns for a portfolio of clients. Assist with bookkeeping using cloud accounting software. Support client queries and HMRC correspondence. Collaborate with senior staff on advisory work and client projects. Experience & Skills Required: Previous experience working within an accountancy practice. Qualified or studying towards ACA / ACCA / AAT is preferred! Good working knowledge of UK accounting standards. Experience with software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage or similar and strong Excel skills. Excellent communication, time management and organisational skills. Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.
