We are looking for a Research Technician to join the ERC project NatClim (Predicting the Natural Future of Earth’s Climate) within the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Cardiff University.
Responsibilities
* Follow established guidelines to prepare marine sediments for various analyses
* Train other staff and students in technical procedures and in the use of equipment
* Undertake reviews of technical processes and procedures, in collaboration with line management, and advise on options for improvement
Qualifications
* Have substantial experience of working as a technician within a paleoclimate laboratory or equivalent
* Have the ability to set up and review standard technical processes and procedures and recommend improvements as appropriate
* Have experience of maintaining, servicing and using appropriate equipment and apparatus, including for example optical microscopes and water purification systems

This post is full time (35 hours per week) and fixed‑term for a period of 36 months.
Salary: £28,031 to £31,236 per annum (Grade 4)
