We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a market-leading heavy engineering and fabrication business, recognised for delivering complex infrastructure and maritime projects across a variety of sectors. With a strong order book and long-standing reputation, this organisation is trusted to deliver large-scale projects to exacting quality, safety, and performance standards. This is a 100% site-based role in Tyneside, leading from the front in a busy, hands-on environment. Youll act as the key interface between the company and its customers, driving projects from inception to completion and ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and to budget. The Role You will take full ownership of multi-million-pound heavy fabrication projects, managing planners, engineers, production, and quality teams. With responsibility for coordinating resources, controlling budgets, and ensuring all deliverables are met, you will play a central role in the success of each project. A core part of the role will be building strong customer relationships, instilling trust and confidence through clear communication, proactive problem solving, and consistent delivery. Youll also be monitoring earned value, managing change control, and addressing challenges in real time, ensuring that every detail is accounted for. What Youll Bring Proven track record managing large-scale fabrication, shipbuilding, defence, or complex engineering projects. An engineering qualification (mechanical or similar), backed by recognised project management training (APM, PRINCE2, or equivalent). Strong understanding of project lifecycles, change control, and cost management. Experience with earned value tracking and performance reporting. Proficiency in project planning tools such as MS Project or Primavera. Confident communicator, able to influence senior stakeholders and manage customer expectations. Why Apply?
