Wood is currently recruiting for a Laboratory Manager to be based at SAGE St Fergus Site.
The Laboratory Manager must hold a degree in Chemical Sciences (or a related scientific discipline) and has extensive experience in the day-to-day operation of a self-sufficient laboratory environment. Candidates must possess strong knowledge of laboratory sampling, analysis, and reporting requirements within a gas processing site, ensuring compliance with operational and regulatory standards.
The Role:
The Laboratory Manager is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Terminal Laboratory. The Laboratory Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all work carried out by the laboratory personnel conforms to the requirements of the Quality System and to those of Wood and all accreditation bodies and shall act as the UKAS Technical and Quality Manager.

Skills and experience:
7. Degree in chemical sciences or another scientific discipline
8. Experience in the day-to-day running of a self-sufficient laboratory
9. Knowledge of Laboratory sampling, analysis and reporting requirements for a gas processing site
10. Knowledge of ensuring that the requirements of the UKAS Accreditation Standard ISO 17025 are met on a day-to-day basis in a laboratory
11. Possess technical expertise to aid site personnel
12. Experience of training and continual development of personnel
13. Aware of the hazards and safety requirements associated with a gas processing terminal and with laboratory processes
14. Developing COSHH Assessments
15. Developing Risk Assessments
16. Developing and raising permits within the Integrated Safe System of Work process
