Consultant Histopathologist

The Scarborough Hull York Pathology Service (SHYPS) seeks applications for Consultant Histopathologists who are interested in joining a supportive, cohesive and committed team of consultants based at our purpose-built facility at Hull Royal Infirmary.
SHYPS operates across four acute hospital sites and a range of community, specialist and primary care facilities, providing comprehensive histopathology services.
Main duties
The Hull Royal Infirmary department runs a subspecialist reporting system led by teams of consultants. The Histopathology Team at York Hospitals reports a wide range of histopathology samples and delivers specialist input at multidisciplinary team meetings. SHYPS partners with the National Pathology Imaging Co‑operative (NPIC) to implement digital pathology, and the department supports flexible working arrangements.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Full registration on the GMC register and licence to practice.
* Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via CCT (date within 6 months of interview) or CESR.
* Held a medical degree.
* Completed a postgraduate thesis.
Experience
* Demonstrated high level of clinical experience and competence in cellular pathology.
* Experience training undergraduate medical students and postgraduate doctors.
* Participation in regular clinical audit.
* Evidence of continuous career progression appropriate to personal circumstances.
* Previous role as a Consultant Histopathologist in the UK.
