Summary
To proactively support the safe and efficient manufacturing of goods through effective planning and scheduling, ensuring raw materials, packaging, and production plans are aligned to deliver customer requirements on time and in full, while maintaining cost control and operational efficiency.
Role
This is a 14‑month contract role responsible for all aspects of planning and scheduling within a factory environment, including raw material planning and the ordering of packaging and ingredients. Acting as a key link between Operations and Supply Chain, you will ensure that production plans are delivered on time and in full (OTIF) without negatively impacting cost or production timescales. You will play a central role in aligning demand, production, and supply, while supporting continuous improvement, compliance, and operational performance.
Your Key Responsibilities
Planning & Scheduling
* Act as a trusted advisor on planning, scheduling, and forecasting activities within the factory
* Utilise management information (MI) to prioritise production and packing plans in line with business goals
* Develop and deliver operational plans aligned with customer demand and Supply Chain strategy
* Ensure production plans are robust, achievable, and clearly communicated in advance
* Plan raw materials, packaging, and ingredients to support uninterrupted production
* Build contingency plans to mitigate risk and support business continuity (including NPD trials)
* Liaise with other sites, including Grimsby, to ensure stock availability and alignment
Performance, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
* Monitor KPIs including OTIF, customer service, and production performance
* Ensure stock checks are accurate and recorded in line with procedures
* Analyse data to identify risks, trends, and improvement opportunities
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and CI projects
* Participate in daily and cross‑functional meetings (Operations, Technical, Engineering, HR)
Safety & Compliance
* Take responsibility for health, safety, and environmental compliance within your area
* Report any incidents, risks, or improvement opportunities to the SHE team
* Support a positive health & safety culture across the site
Quality & Food Safety
* Promote and support a strong food safety and quality culture
* Ensure all food safety and quality checks are completed in line with company standards
* Report any food safety concerns promptly
* Maintain accurate system updates to support traceability and compliance
Cost & Operational Efficiency
* Support cost control initiatives and identify opportunities for improvement
* Monitor production targets and escalate any risks to delivery
* Contribute to efficient use of resources while maintaining safety and quality standards
People & Stakeholder Collaboration
* Work collaboratively with internal teams and stakeholders to achieve site objectives
* Support onboarding and development of team members in partnership with HR and L&D
* Promote engagement and a positive working culture across the site

Preferred Experience
* 4+ years’ experience in planning or supply chain within an FMCG or food manufacturing environment
* Experience working in chilled and/or frozen environments
* Knowledge of fish products and coated processing (desirable)
* Management qualification or equivalent experience
* Level 2 Food Hygiene and Allergen Management knowledge
* Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office
* Understanding of TACCP & VACCP principles
