As a KS1 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a broad and balanced curriculum to Years 1 and 2, ensuring lessons are engaging, differentiated, and meet the needs of all learners. You will foster independence, resilience, and a love of learning while supporting pupils’ academic and personal development. Key Responsibilities Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the KS1 curriculum Create a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment Use assessment data to track progress and inform planning and interventions Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL Promote positive behaviour, independence, and a love of learning Prepare pupils for end-of-Key Stage 1 assessments in a supportive way Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and senior leaders Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress Contribute to staff meetings, CPD sessions, and whole-school initiatives Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Have experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally Years 1 and 2 Demonstrate strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and assessment requirements Be organised, enthusiastic, and proactive Have excellent classroom management and communication skills Be reflective, adaptable, and committed to professional development Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing The school is located in Borehamwood, with excellent transport links and a supportive local community.
