The Housekeeping service plays a vital role and is included as part of the centre team to ensure that a pleasant, safe, welcoming, and clean environment is provided to patients, visitors, and staff.
Wye Valley Community Diagnostic Centre: Wye Valley NHS Trust is building a brand new Diagnostic Centre on the northern side of the city centre, Holmer Road, Hereford (located behind the B&Q building). The Centre will bring the latest, state-of-the-art MRI, CT, X-ray, and Ultrasound equipment, allowing us to diagnose cancer and other health conditions earlier and with greater accuracy. Staff from our existing diagnostic services will rotate between the County Hospital and the CDC site to take their important work to this community setting. We are now recruiting more colleagues to join us in this exciting venture!
Main duties of the job
* Provide a comprehensive Housekeeping service to the centre, ensuring consistent quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the services.
* Assist in the prevention and control of Healthcare Associated Infections.
* Maintain a welcoming and tidy environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
* Ensure economical and safe use of supplies and equipment.
* Communicate closely with Domestic Assistants and clinical colleagues regarding cleanliness and decontamination issues.
* Clean body fluid spillages as per Local Policy and Infection Prevention and Control guidelines.
* Manage housekeeping and daily operations of the centre.
* Keep sluice and utility areas tidy and manage soiled linen in accordance with Trust policy.
* Handle dirty/infected linen and remove to the central uplift point.
* Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the Diagnostic Centre as per local policy.
* Manage procurement and stock rotation, ensuring appropriate stock levels and escalating procurement issues to the Operational Clinical Lead.
