What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Principal Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our combat systems. Your responsibilities will include:
* Design Development: Define and develop the ECS design using systems engineering principles, including architecture, requirements, concept solutions, and interfaces.
* Contractual Insight: Understand and support the contractual and performance requirements for communication products and sub-systems throughout their lifecycle.
* Supplier Collaboration: Ensure the flow-down of requirements to suppliers and manage the acceptance of their deliverables.
* Project Support: Assist the EM and PM in bids, proposal development, and project planning activities.
* Technical Guidance: Provide technical support for integrated performance and acceptance activities, ensuring smooth transitions from suppliers to customer acceptance.
* Knowledge Sharing: Document domain knowledge and mentor team members to enhance our collective expertise.
Your Skills and Experiences:
We’re looking for candidates who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience, including:
* Expertise in wireless communication systems within maritime, defence, or commercial domains.
* A STEM-related degree or equivalent experience in aerospace, defence, telecommunications, or marine environments.
* Familiarity with the complete engineering lifecycle, particularly in requirements/system design, integration, and acceptance.
* A strong awareness of product safety and SHE standards.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
