About the Role
Newly created contract opportunity to work as part of the Global Solutions Legal Department of a leading investment manager to contribute to the growth of the business. The legal team supports the Solutions Business which comprises workplace investing and retail products.
The investing business provides investment services to trustees of UK pension schemes in relation to trust-based schemes and provides pension products to employers. The retail business provides investment solutions to retail investors through its advised and non-advised platforms.
Responsibilities
* To provide support with the day-to-day legal queries which arise within the UK business.
* Assisting with the drafting and negotiating of onboarding documentation, transitions agreements, third-party fund provider agreements, life policies and a wide range of commercial agreements related to the UK global solutions business.
* Overseeing the negotiation of NDAs, DPAs, linking agreements and trademark agreements.
* Review new laws and regulations and assess the impact on the business.
* Advise on the legal and regulatory environment and keeping up to date with changes.
* Working with other departments within the wider global legal team.
* Liaise with external counsel as and when required.
Experience and Knowledge Required
* Qualified Lawyer or equivalent qualification.
* Minimum 5+ post-qualification relevant work experience ideally working in a law firm or financial service organisation.
* Commercially minded.
* General understanding of the laws applicable to UK pensions and retail products.
* Ability to advise on regulations relating to pension and retail products.
* Knowledge of tax and data protection.
* Knowledge of corporate and general commercial law would be beneficial for this role.
* Pro-active team player.
* Good drafting skills.
* Project management and strong organisational skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and communication skills, both written and verbal.
