Our client, a busy local authority in Northwest London, are looking for an experienced Heat Networks Project Officer to join their team and play a crucial role within their Neighbourhoods & Regeneration services. Position: Heat Networks Project Officer Rate: £36.62 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35) Contract Duration: Temporary (Nov 2026) Possible Extension Working Arrangement: Hybrid Job Purpose: Responsible for managing the Heat Network project, to supply up to 3,000 homes, ensuring the scheme remains financially viable and provides affordable heat to end users. Job Duties: Responsible for managing allocated project budgets and resources and ensuring that the Council’s financial management and reporting protocols are adhered to. Lead on project communications including keeping residents and heat off-takers informed of project developments. Lead on compiling regular progress and governance reports and identifying and managing project risks/issues. Job Requirements: Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation. Extensive relevant project management experience – Prince 2 Practitioner level or equivalent. Knowledge of project management techniques, including governance, dependency management, risk management and financial management. Knowledge of district heating systems, including relevant legislation, regulations and standards. Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
