The purpose of this job will be to support the day-to-day activities of the department in co-operation with the rest of the surgical staffing.
The successful candidate will participate in all aspects of the unit's clinical work including clinics, operating sessions, and ward rounds.
The successful candidate will also be required to contribute to the emergency general surgical workload of the team. The post would be ideally suited to a Senior House Officer looking to gain specialist colorectal surgery experience along with emergency surgery to consolidate their experience.
The successful candidate is expected to participate in all the other on-going activities of the department including audit, research projects and to attend various departmental meetings and teaching sessions (MDTs, Audit meetings, M&M, ward, and formal teaching).
Within the hours contracted, the successful candidate is expected to be flexible in the exact hours worked each day.
All Medical and Dental Staff employed by the Trust are expected to comply with hospital health and safety policies, clinical governance, and other risk management policies.
