Working as part of the Coatbridge CLD team, you will lead the delivery of a new project focused on engaging young people and families in the co-design and co-production of services linked to the Coatbridge Town Investment Fund. This role will involve developing and implementing creative, inclusive approaches to consultation and participation, ensuring the voices of young people and families shape local regeneration plans.
As Project Officer, you will coordinate engagement activities, including community events, targeted outreach, and digital platforms, using local context and priorities. You will work with young people to build confidence, reduce risks of harm, and promote positive outcomes in learning, life, and work.
An enthusiastic and motivated individual, you will have a knowledge of current national and local developments within CLD and a commitment to empowering communities. You will have strong organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to support youth engagement in town planning, whilst working collaboratively with partners and local agencies.
As part of the youth work team, you will be required to link with schools and community organisations to develop the role.
Successful candidates will have good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team. You must have relevant qualifications at SCQF level 7 in Community Learning and Development or an equivalent discipline, and/or accredited training appropriate to the learning programme being delivered. Previous experience of leading community-based work with young people and families is essential.
The Project Officer will be line managed through the CLD Youth Work team.
You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member prior to starting this post.
Work patterns will be discussed further at interview stage, and successful candidates are expected to work during the day, in the evenings and weekends. Location for posts will be Coatbridge Community Centre, Coatbridge.
This position is temporary until 30/10/.
