Job Title: Senior Project Manager

Type: 12 months of contract
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinate and complete infrastructure and automation projects from conception through to closeout.
* Define project scope, set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor progress against schedule and budget.
* Provide regular project status updates and reports to senior leadership.
* Lead and direct multidisciplinary teams, including external contractors and internal stakeholders.
* Ensure project delivery aligns with regulatory, safety, and quality standards, including CDM 2015.
* Maintain effective working relationships with internal customers and local stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication and successful delivery.
* Represent the organisation locally, upholding its brand and values throughout project execution.
* Handle technical challenges pragmatically, supporting the design and construction phases typical of R&D infrastructure projects.
Required Skills & Competencies:
* Proven track record in managing scientific infrastructure and automation projects.
* Strong technical grounding to effectively address and resolve site-based issues.
* High-level project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
* Ability to manage and coordinate with both local stakeholders and geographically distant contractors.
* Creative problem-solver with a hands-on approach and strong judgment.
* Familiarity with CDM 2015, RIBA Plan of Work, and CIBSE standards.
Education & Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline.
* Recognised project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, APM).
* Significant experience in leading technically complex projects within a research or laboratory environment.
