This Wellbeing and Activities Coordinator role at Avery Healthcare is focused on providing a wide range of engaging activities to support the physical, psychological, and social wellbeing of residents. The successful candidate will have experience working with older people in a residential or nursing setting, and a passion for creating meaningful experiences for residents.


Main duties

* Plan and deliver a diverse range of activities and events to stimulate residents' interests and promote independence, choice, and fulfillment.
* Understand residents' life histories, needs, and preferences to create a monthly activity plan and a weekly overview.
* Arrange outings and encourage involvement from staff, relatives, and visitors.
* Maintain a safe and positive living environment and contribute to the positive image of the home.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Wellbeing and Activities Coordinator will be to provide a wide range of activities to engage and stimulate residents\' physical, psychological, and social well-being and to understand the need to promote privacy, dignity, independence, choice, rights, and fulfilment for all residents.

Other responsibilities will include:

* Identifying residents\' life history, needs, and preferences to support development of a detailed life story.
* Planning and submitting to the Home Manager a monthly activity and wellbeing plan and a weekly overview.
* Arranging activities, events, and outings, encouraging involvement of staff, relatives, and visitors.
* Maintaining a safe living and working environment and contributing to a positive, professional home image.

To be successful, you must live our values of caring, support, honesty, respect, and accountability in all that you do.

Our ideal candidate must have:

* Experience working with older people in a residential nursing or dementia setting
* Experience organising activities and events
* Effective verbal and written communication skills

Person Specification


Qualifications

* To be successful in this role, you must have previous experience working with older people in a residential or nursing setting, as well as experience organizing activities and events. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, as is a positive attitude towards older people and a commitment to providing stimulating, quality activities and social events.


Disclosure and Barring Service Check
